Just Push the Button!

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
Assalamualaikum wbt.

1. I am here to address the issue of Muslim outrage around the globe in response to the filming and screening of a controversial short film entitled 'Innocence of Muslims'.

2. And for that, I'll create an analogy for you my dear.

3. Let's say I have a button, which will give me a million of money every time I push it once.

4. I'll surely push the button more and more.

5. Now the act of pushing the button is likened to the insult other people make towards our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW.

6. And the millions of money is likened to our outrage, anger and all other form of emotional extremism.

7. The message is rather straight forward. The more we show our anger for being insulted, the more these people will insult us because they really 'enjoy' looking at us being put 'on fire'.

8. The solution? Let them strain their fingers and regret for pushing the button. They'll get sick of waiting for the money to come out, just like how they'll get sick of waiting for us to get angry.

9. We don't have to struggle to remove or destroy the button. Instead, all we need to do is not to be the button, which dispenses money when it is pressed.

"So be patient (O Muhammad) over WHATEVER they say, and exalt (Allah) with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting."
(Surah Qaf, ayah number 39)

10. Muslims' greatest weapon in this circumstance is our great patience showing how we are not at all affected by whatever they say about our prophet SAW.

11. The dignity and greatness of beloved Muhammad SAW are from Allah, and nobody can take them away from him SAW, not even their ridicule or insults. Never!

12. Instead, we take a more proactive means to double our work of dakwah and communicate more with non-Muslims, distributing the words and message of Islam such as by distributing more free copies of the Quran in the public.

13. Also as found in the above verse, let's just increase our remembrance towards Allah by saying subhanallah (exalted is He) and alhamdulillah (all praise be to Allah SWT).

14. In other words, we have alternative in ways we could respond to such incident.

15. Lastly, let me quote Boonaa Mohammed who beautifully says the following:

"They insult our prophet with the things they say, we do it (insult our prophet) by not following his way (sunnah)."

16. It's always necessary to look inwardly in our life, the fact that maybe the trouble that we see around us comes from our own weaknesses and mistakes.

17. We have to uphold justice even if that means that we have to go against ourselves (please read Surah An-Nisa', ayah number 135).

18. We as Muslims should always begin from inside when we react. Always look at problems around us as a mirror, because what it appears (on the mirror) could be a reflection of what we are.

19. Really, with this in mind, pushing the button will never have any impact on Islam. We shall respond, but in a better way, and let them do it; just push the button!

20. Allahuaklam. Please enjoy the video below by Ustaz Nouman Ali Khan.

Ibnu Hanaffi Wears Hijab

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
Assalamualaikum wbt.

1. This entry has nothing to do with Devil Wears Prada. Except that I am an angel (It's a joke ok) =p

2. But we are talking about hijab here.

3. How come a guy like me wears hijab then?

4. No I do not.

5. But this entry is about hijab. Basically hijab is the scarf, or piece of cloth Muslim women put over and around their heads to cover their hair and neck (not face).

6. And it is an obligation in Islam, not an option, nor a choice.

7. The question of hijab is one of the most asked questions especially by non-Muslim women. One of them is an American whom I met during Ramadhan. (Please refer Dakwah and Me)

8. While many would question Islam as truth, it is still the fastest growing religion in the West.

9. And while people may argue about hijab, out of all those who reverted to Islam, most of them are women- which proves that hijab, in and of itself is never a problem.

10. So what really is the problem?

11. Our belief in God.

12. Hijab (like many other compulsory things in Islam) has everything to do with the belief in God.

13. We can argue on plethora of reasons and logical explanation for hijab, from being a tool for women protection, to worldly thing such as fashion demand.

14. But all those can be rebutted. In many ways.

15. But who are we to deny the greatness of our Creator the Most High?

16. We were created from tiny sperm and ovum, yet now we deny the Creator and His instruction, whose words can shatter the mountains?

17. That is far too much.

18. The climax of this article is this.

19. I am not addressing this article to those not wearing hijab. I am addressing this to one who does instead.

20. Ask this question to yourself: Why do I wear hijab?

21. Is it because that's the piece of cloth you used to live with since you were young?

22. The true piety of somebody is not judged by the length of her hijab, but by the strength of her eeman (faith).

23. I have met people, who refuses to wear hijab, because she herself couldn't find a good example from women with hijab. Some are even worse (in words and actions) than those without hijab.

24. I believe many sisters out there have been encountering the same excuses from their 'non-hijabi' friends.

25. But I am not here to blame the 'hijabis'. I am here to invite you re-investigate the concept of hijab.

26. In my opinion, the word hijab must be understood beyond the need to 'hide' the appearance of certain parts of the body.

27. Because it has much to do with modesty, decency and as mentioned earlier, a sign of piety towards Allah the Creator.

28. And these things (modesty, decency and piety) are themselves not something that we can see or touch, but they should appear to be obvious, 'worn' by every men and women.

29. And I mention men too, because men are not allowed to appear naked in the public. There is 'hijab' for men too of course.

30. In short, when we are talking about hijab, I prefer to put it this way.

31. The wearing of hijab is not only about hiding. It's about showing.

32. What is hidden (covered) is the body parts, but what is shown is modesty, decency and piety.

33. The implication is obvious. Wearing hijab without being modest is a strong indication that one has not fully grasped the real concept of hijab.

34. In short, if you wear hijab, make sure you are not doing so as though you are still naked.

35. Wallahuaklam. Wassalamualaikum wbt.

How to Defeat the Zionists

Bismilllahirrahmanirrahim.
Assalamualaikum wbt.

1. That guy above has a beard. But that's besides the point. He is Theodor Herzl, a Jew, and the father of modern political Zionism.

2. And he is dead. So if we want to be afraid, let's be afraid of his ghost instead. After all, many ghosts had just been released on Syawal 1st recently.

3. Do you know what is more ghostly?

4. A ghost with no fingers. No, I mean, pointing fingers. Meaning, putting the blame always on others.

5. Back to case in point. We are surely interested in the same question: How do we defeat the Zionists?

6. Asking such question, in and of itself, may be a sign of defeat already.

7. Why do we want to defeat the Zionists in the first place?

8. Is winning (read:victory) always about defeating others?

9. Wrong. The true victor is one who wins over his own self!

10. And Islam teaches us that jihad, which means to strive or struggle, begins from overcoming the inner self of us. And this may be the biggest enemy (hence challenge) we have to face.

11. The real freedom (independence) therefore is the freedom from this greatest enemy, known in Arabic as the nafs which simply means 'self'. To exaggerate it in an image of enemy, nafs would rather be understood or defined as EGO.

12. My message here is simple. It is so naive on our part to expect that people won't make use of our weaknesses (assuming that weakness here refers to our subversion or surrender to our nafs).

13. Why? Because it is almost natural (though not permissible, from moral and religious point of view) for people who have advantage  against others to use that advantage as a tool to victimize.

14. So, the fact that Muslims and the whole humanity are suffering are not primarily because there exist the number one world criminals like Zionists and armies of Dajjal, but because we are too weak to fight them, to a point that we lose even before the battle begins.

15. They don't have any advantage over us, except that that advantage come from our weaknesses. Getting rid of our own weaknesses will therefore mean that we also get rid of their advantage, hence cruelty, manipulation and evil control over us.

16. In other words, let's not strive to shout and spit out voices of anger merely in the air (with no eventual desired result), but let the heart shout instead because genuine change would start from WITHIN, and then action follows.

17. My second message to bring forward here is rather simpler. Let's come back to Islam. Let's come back to the Quran and Sunnah and take them seriously.

18. Rendering them as absent in our life is the biggest mistake and the most enormous weakness we could ever have.

19. Muhammad SAW, our beloved prophet made it very clear when he said that we are not going to be astray in any way so long as we hold on to two things aforementioned i.e the Quran and Sunnah (prophetic traditions).

20. It doesn't simply mean go and read books about them. Rather, it very importantly includes our interaction with Allah SWT and the prophets and the people who tread on the same path (the companions and the ulama').

21. In the Quran, it mentions that the disbelievers will laugh at us.

"The wicked used to laugh at the believers."
(Surah Al-Muthoffifin, ayah number 29)

22. And in the Hereafter they will be the ones we will laugh at.

"So today the believers are laughing at the disbelievers."
(Surah Al-Muthoffifin, ayah number 34)

23. We unfortunately are unaware of their plot to make us follow them in whatever way they want.

24. Let me illustrate one simple example.

25. Most people nowadays can hardly live without Facebook. At least to communicate instantly.

26. Hence we have put too much reliance upon it, to an extent that we let it controls us.

27. Remember when Facebook changed its layout to timeline format? Many Facebook users complained and made noise about it.

28. However at the end of the day, there's nothing can be done except to just live with it (the change).

29. We are not Mark Zuckerberg are we?

30. The message is simple. Take money for instance. This is why we have to be careful not to invest our whole life into it.

31. There may come a time when we shall do something that we should not do, and do not want to do, but are forced to do, because we can't live without money. This, is the false servitude that we should be very careful at.

32. The choice (hence solution) is none other than shifting the servitude to Allah SWT the most High, who is the best of Protector, the best of Provider and Sustainer.

33. Think about it. Ask questions. Why are we here on earth? What is the purpose of living here while we see more and more people leaving and dying, if not as a sign that our turn will soon come too?

34. Are we prepared?

35. Happy independence day everyone. Remember, the true freedom is by subscribing ourselves to Allah SWT and being His true servant. Rely on Allah SWT, as He is indeed free of all defects, free of all needs.

Allahuaklam. Wassalamualaikum wbt =D
